Public Why Participate in Research at Advocate Health Care? Advocate Health Care is an organization of physicians and health care professionals dedicated to serving the health needs of individuals, families and communities in Northern Illinois. Recognized as one of the leading integrated health care delivery networks in the United States, Advocate was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1995, but actually traces its beginnings back more than 100 years. Clinical research is the backbone of the medical innovations we enjoy today as usual medical practice. Most medications and devices physicians use have been developed from medical research. Without research, we would be unable to advance medicine and improve the care we provide to patients. If you are interested in participating in a clinical research study, contact Heather Larkin McGuigan at 847-384-3614 or search our database for a specific study. General information regarding clinical trials can be found at ClinicalTrials.gov. Developed by the National Library of Medicine, the website is a service provided by the the National Institutes of Health (NIH). |
