Pediatric Services: A full range of comprehensive pediatric rehabilitation and development services (including audiology) are also available at Advocate Children's Hospital.
Balance Therapy Program: A team of audiologists and physical and occupational therapists deliver balance training to patients suffering from vertigo and other balance problems. Therapists utilize balance exercises, exercise balance boards and other techniques, as well as education about making the patient's home safe.
Hand & Occupational Therapy: We help patients regain the use of their hands and upper extremities after illness, injury or surgery. Our therapists use occupational therapy assessments, exercises and pain management techniques to increase overall function and help patients get back to regular activities. Available at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Palos Heights, Tinley Park and Lockport.
Driver Assessment Program: This two-stage program helps physicians to make recommendations regarding a patient's ability to continue driving. Balance, strength motions, vision and perceptual skills are all evaluated as they pertain to driving and a simulated driving skill test evaluates judgment, problem solving and decision making skills in various driving situations. Behind-the-wheel driving assessments are performed by an outside agency.
Neuro-functional limb training: Patients with neurological hand injuries and foot drop as a result of stroke and other conditions benefit from Advocate Christ Medical Center's neuro-functional limb training. Available at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Lockport and Palos Heights.
