Vascular conditions
We treat a full range of circulatory and vascular conditions. These include:
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm: Your aorta carries blood from your heart to smaller arteries. When a balloon-shaped bulge forms in the aorta, it could burst and be life-threatening.
- Carotid artery disease: Your carotid arteries deliver blood to your head and brain. When these vessels become blocked, carotid artery disease can occur, which can lead to a stroke.
- Deep vein thrombosis (blood clots): A blood clot can form when your circulation slows down because of illness or inactivity.
- Dialysis access: When your kidneys can’t properly filter the bloodstream of excess fluids and waste, dialysis can help.
- Pelvic venous congestion: When the blood in your pelvic veins flows in the wrong direction, pressure can build in the pelvis and the legs leading to chronic pain and other symptoms.
- Peripheral artery disease (PAD): Your peripheral arteries carry blood from your heart to your head, organs and limbs. PAD occurs when plaque builds up in these arteries, making it difficult for blood to travel to your body parts.
- Thoracic outlet syndrome: When your blood vessels and nerves between your collarbone and first rib become compressed, it can cause shoulder and neck pain and numbness in your fingers.
- Varicose and spider veins: These enlarged, twisted and bulging veins can be painful as standing and walking increases pressure in these veins.
- Venous insufficiency: Blood moves toward your heart via one-way valves in the veins. Venous insufficiency can occur when these valves stop functioning normally.
- Venous ulcers: Swelling and other side effects of chronic venous disease can lead to painful open sores on your legs.
