Downers Grove, Ill – Advocate Health Care has been named as one of the nation’s most wired health systems in 2016’s Most Wired Survey by Hospitals & Health Networks (HH&N) magazine. This is the 14th time Advocate has made the list. HH&N is the flagship publication of the American Hospital Association.

Nearly 700 surveys were completed this year representing an estimated 2,146 hospitals—more than 34 percent of all hospitals in the U.S. Survey results indicate that technology is improving the efficiency of care delivery and creating a new dynamic in patient interactions.

"Advocate is proud to be acknowledged for our efforts to expand mobile technologies so our patients and clinician have access to care and services where and when they need it,” said Bruce Smith, senior vice president and chief information officer at Advocate Health Care. “We are honored to again be included on this prestigious list.”

Most Wired hospitals are using technology to build patient engagement with the individual’s lifestyle in mind, which includes electronic access to their care team.

  •  68 percent accept patient-generated data through the patient portal.
  • 26 percent of Most Wired organizations offer E-visits through a mobile application.
  • 61 percent use social media to provide support groups.
