“We’re so proud to be recognized for this meaningful achievement. Patient safety is our top organizational priority and ingrained in our culture at every level,” said Lee Sacks, M.D., executive vice president and chief medical officer, Advocate Health Care. “Our physicians, nurses and associates take this responsibility extremely seriously and remain committed to ensuring the very best possible outcomes for patients, who deserve nothing less.”

Leapfrog analysts use publicly available data to look at 30 different safety measures and assign grades based on how well hospitals are doing to protect patients from harm. Measurements include the hospital’s ability to prevent errors, accidents, injuries and infections.

More than 2,600 hospitals across the nation are graded, including 113 Illinois hospitals.
