Advocate Hospitals Named Among Best in Illinois by U.S. News & World Report

Downers Grove, Ill- Recognized for delivering exceptional patient care, six Advocate Health Care hospitals have been named among the finest in Chicago and Illinois, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2016-2017 Best Hospitals list. The rankings were released today.

The sites listed among the top 20 hospitals in Illinois include Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center on Chicago’s North Side, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin and Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. All four sites plus two additional hospitals – Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington – were named among the top 20 in the Chicago metro area.

Christ Medical Center ranked 4th overall in Illinois and ranked among the top 50 hospitals in the nation in two specialties – Cardiology & Heart Surgery and Gynecology. Lutheran General Hospital ranked 6th overall in Illinois and made the top 50 list nationally in Gastroenterology & GI Surgery and Gynecology.

The U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 27th year, consider measures such as patient survival, the number of times a given procedure is performed, infection rates, adequacy of nurse staffing and more.
