Cassandra Cox, RHIA, manager of Health Information Management at Advocate South Suburban Hospital was recently named a 2015 Advocate Healthy Environment Award winner. Cox and other winners were recognized for taking significant steps to protect the environment or promote personal health.
Cox, who joined Advocate in 2015, was nominated by her peers for starting an exercise program in her department that integrates healthy living into the work day, while also improving team cohesiveness. Overall, 25 winners were recognized for their work as Healthe Champions or Environmental Stewards.
“Cassie is relatively new to Advocate, which makes her initiative in starting this program even more impressive,” said Rich Heim, president of Advocate South Suburban Hospital. “Advocate is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients, physicians, associates, and volunteers, and associates like Cassie help us further that mission.”
