Rashida Adenwala, M.D.

Dr. Adenwala was born and raised in London. She is a graduate of St. George's University of London School of Medicine and was undergoing her ER residency in London, when she got married and moved to Chicago. She completed her family medicine residency program at Advocate Christ. Since then, she practiced occupational medicine, became a licensed practitioner with the FMCSA and can perform DOT examinations.
She joined the Advocate Medical Group as a member of faculty and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She lives in Naperville, IL with her husband and three sons. She enjoys trail running and biking, gluten free baking, travelling, knitting and sewing.
Kiran Bojedla, D.O.

Dr. Bojedla is a 2014 graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). He completed his family medicine residency at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL in 2017, and in 2018 went on to complete a primary care sports medicine fellowship with LECOM Sports Medicine in Erie, PA. There, he worked as a team physician for Mercyhurst University and the Erie Bayhawks of the NBA G League. He received his BA in 2010 from the George Washington University in Washington, DC, majoring in American History and Biology.
He joins Advocate Medical Group in the Fall of 2018, is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine, and has a special interest in sports medicine, ultrasound-guided injections, preventive care, and palliative medicine. He is a native of Buffalo, NY, and is an avid runner and ardent Buffalo Bills fan.
Sangili Chandran, M.D.

Dr. Chandran is a graduate of Madras University, India, and was trained in orthopedics at Madurai University, India. He completed two years of general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a family practice residency at CMS/Swedish Covenant, serving as chief resident. Board certified in primary care sports medicine, Dr. Chandran is the Director of Sports Medicine/Musculoskeletal Care.
Dr. Chandran is a Clinical Associate Professor of family medicine at Chicago Medical School. He serves as team physician for area high schools, and provides sports physicals for St. Xavier University. He is fluent in Tamil. Dr. Chandran is married and has three children. He participated in, and finished, the Chicago Marathon.
Lovella Kanu, M.D.

Dr. Kanu is a graduate of Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, one of the top medical universities in the Philippines, where she also obtained her undergraduate degree in B.S. Biology. She completed her Family Medicine Residency training at the Cook County-Loyola program in Chicago, serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Kanu is ABFM and Obesity Medicine Certified.
Her professional interests are in Preventative, Maternal-Child Health, Underserved and Obesity Medicine. Prior to residency, Dr. Kanu was involved in clinical research and multiple medical missions, which she intends on continuing throughout her career. She enjoys traveling, listening to music and spending time with her family inclusive of her “furry” family.
Cynthia Ohata, M.D.

Dr. Ohata graduated from the University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine in Seattle then proceeded to the UW Family Medicine Residency where she also served as a fourth year Chief Resident. As Chief Resident she edited the first edition of First Aid for the Family Medicine Boards. She practiced as a community primary care physician in both Seattle and Chicago and as Family Medicine Faculty for the UW, West Suburban Residency and Rush Medical College in Chicago before joining the faculty at Advocate Christ Family Medicine Residency.
Her interests in medicine include women's and children's health as well as community medicine. Dr. Ohata was raised in Hawaii where she was a competitive hula dancer. She attended Princeton University where she was awarded a Bachelor's degree in English and the Sudler Award in the Arts. She and her two sons have achieved second degree blacks in Tae Kwon Do so they can protect her husband, although he runs faster and farther than any of them.
Danielle Principato, Psy.D.

Dr. Danielle Principato is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She is a graduate of Loyola University (B.S.) and The Illinois School of Professional Psychology (Psy.D.). She has trained and worked in a variety of settings, including: primary care, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities, and outpatient clinics. Dr. Principato has extensive experience working with those struggling with anxiety, depression, behavioral and emotional troubles, and chronic medical illness, along with identity, life transitions, loss, and relationship difficulties.
She has also served as a professional faculty member and adjunct faculty coordinator at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she taught clinical psychology graduate students. She works from a relationship and insight-based framework to help patients gain deeper understanding and meaning, change troubling patterns, and move towards growth, health, and wellbeing
Ericka Sanders, M.D.

Dr. Ericka Sanders, born and raised in Chicago (Englewood), is a graduate from the family medicine residency program at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Prior to which, she obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Biology at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. During this time, she volunteered for a group, on Chicago's westside, known as “New Mom's which is dedicated to the education and support of at risk young women and their babies during pregnancy, child birth and early childhood development.
After completing her undergrad, she obtained her medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Medicine. Most recently, she completed one-year as a teaching faculty for the Family Medicine Residency program at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, IL where she continued her training as a Maternal Child Health Fellow. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, baking, traveling, live comedy, spending time with her family and friends as well as developing real estate. She is super excited for this next chapter in her career!
Stephen Sladek, M.D.

Dr. Sladek is a graduate of the College of the University of Chicago and received his medical training from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his family medicine residency in South Bend, Indiana and pursued an NIH Clinical Scientist training fellowship in the Department of Obstetrics at the University of Pittsburgh, where he researched the physiology of labor and preeclampsia. Dr. Sladek has had a wide-ranging career in family medicine, all centered around maternal-child health, caring for the underserved, and teaching resident physicians.
His first practice site was a farm worker clinic in Healdsburg, California. Cedar Rapids, Iowa was his next home as a full-time FP Residency faculty member teaching full spectrum care, as well as ObGyn. Family brought Dr. Sladek and his wife back to Chicago, where his children, granddaughter, and extended family now live. Dr. Sladek enjoys camping, hiking, biking, musical theater, and church music.
Staci Vanderjack, M.D.

Dr. Vanderjack completed her family medicine residency and faculty development fellowship at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL. Prior to this she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her medical studies at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She recently completed her Masters of Public Health at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
She is ABFM certified and a member of the AAFP and STFM. She lives in Chicago with her husband, daughter, and beagle and enjoys spending time with family and friends, yoga, cooking, amateur photography, urban gardening, and traveling. She is passionate about primary care, public health, women's health, contraception, obstetrics, and preventive medicine and she is Medical Director of the Family Medicine Center.
Dana Vlachos, D.O.

Dr. Vlachos is a native of the south suburbs of Chicago, growing up in Tinley Park after even having been born at Christ! She completed her undergraduate education in Biology and Spanish at the University of Illinois at Chicago and her medical education at Western University (COMP) in Pomona, CA. She then went on to complete her family medicine residency and faculty development fellowship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
She is board certified by the AAFP and the AOBFP. Some of her special professional interests include maternal-child health, women's health, OMT, procedures and community medicine. She currently lives in Chicago and enjoys spending her free time with family and friends while traveling, cooking, running, dancing and hiking.
