Areas of Concentration (AoC)

A resident in good standing may choose to focus on an area of interest and graduate with an Area of Concentration in a specific field within Family Medicine. This is entirely optional. AoC's completed by past residents include: Sports Medicine, Faculty Development, Lifestyle Medicine and Obstetrics, among others.

We have several requirements as part of AoC:

• completion and presentation of a scholarly project, ideally at the state and/or national level
• attendance at and a report about a CME meeting relevant to the AoC.
• presentation of journal club on the AoC topic
• completion of at least 2 electives in the chosen field
