Salaries

Lutheran General Hospital offers residents a comprehensive benefits package. Our salaries for residents are competitive within the Chicago area and are adjusted each year. For the year 2024-2025, they are as follows:

Academic Year 2024-2025

PGY I - $69,596.80

PGY II - $72,217.60

PGY III - $75,587.20

PGY IV - $79,560.00*

PGY V - $83,740.80*

PGY VI - $86,694.40*

* Fellowships include $3,000 education reimbursement

Vacations and time off

All residents have 28 days of paid vacation each year, with additional days of educational time off to attend conferences during the second and third year of residency.

Insurance and pension plan

A comprehensive health care plan is offered to all residents, their spouses and children. The plan includes medical and dental insurance. A long-term disability and group term life insurance plan is also provided.
