If you have diabetes, you're not alone. It's estimated that almost 20 million Americans have diabetes, although approximately one-third of them are still undiagnosed. Having diabetes means that your body has a problem turning food into fuel for energy; either your body cannot make enough insulin or isn't using insulin efficiently. This, in turn, causes a buildup of sugar in your bloodstream. These high blood sugar levels, if left untreated, can lead to heart and kidney disease, nerve damage, blindness, amputations and a variety of other problems.

The good news is that diabetes can be managed. Studies have proven that by controlling your blood sugar levels you can reduce or even prevent your risk for complications.

We're here to help
