Rehabilitation therapy services

The Rehabilitation Services Department at the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Health and Fitness Center provides outpatient physical and occupational therapy to individuals of all ages. Specializing in both orthopedic and neurological injuries, our experienced and compassionate therapists work closely with the patient, the physician, and the patient's family to create a comprehensive treatment plan.

Each treatment protocol is determined only after thorough evaluation of each patient's physical condition and discussion of his/her individual goals. We tailor the treatment plan to each patient's specific needs. Our therapists also educate patients and/or caregivers on home treatment plans to maximize the benefits of therapy and improve chances for a sustained recovery of function. We also offer the extra benefit of having the full array of resources at the Health and Fitness Center at our disposal.

Physical therapy involves the use of a wide array of interventions in an effort to evaluate and treat individuals with injury, disability or disease. Physical therapists are experts on body movement and function. They help people of all ages return to normal function by developing individualized treatment programs designed to help reduce pain, improve strength and mobility, prevent re-injury, and restore a high quality of life.
