How to apply
Thank you for expressing your interest in the Illinois Masonic Medical Center Anesthesiology Residency Program. The program will communicate with candidates via ERAs and feel free to signal us as well. For MATCH 2025, we will be looking to fill 6 PGY-1 spots and 4 PGY-2 spots.
Second looks
For equity reasons, we will not be offering in-person “second looks”, though we will have virtual open houses for applicants who interview with us.
Interview schedule
Typically, our Interview Days are on Saturdays from 7:00 am – 12:30 pm with an introduction and brief orientation while candidates will be placed into 2 groups. Please note there may be some “downtime” during your interviews therefore you will be placed in the “waiting room” with the residents to encourage peer conversations.
All interviewees will be invited to a virtual Open House on the Friday evening before their Saturday interview. During the Open House, the 1st hour will be with the Program Director and Program Leadership while the 2nd hour interviewees will be able to virtual hang out with the residents.
For the 2025-2026 MATCH season, our interview days are:
- Saturday, October 26th, 2024 (PGY-1 Applicants)
- Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 (PGY-2/CA-1 Applicants Only)
- Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 (PGY-1 Applicants)
- Saturday, December 14th, 2024 (PGY-1 Applicants)
All interviews for our program this year will be 100% virtual.
Signals
We will use signals as part of our initial application review process to determine which candidates will be invited for interviews. Once the interview invitations have been extended, all signal-related information is removed from the applications. Our interviewers conduct the interviews without any knowledge of these signals, ensuring an unbiased evaluation of each candidate’s qualifications.
While signals play a valuable role in the initial phase of our recruitment process, it’s important to note that sending a signal does not guarantee an interview invitation. We do receive a significantly higher number of signals than we have available interview slots. To reiterate, our review will consist of signaled applicants.
