Disease management programs

With an eye toward the prevention of disease as well as addressing its progression, the Center's disease management programs are designed to educate members with diabetes and heart and lung concerns. In a small group exercise program, members are professionally supervised by degreed exercise physiologists and learn safe and effective techniques for improving current fitness levels through:

  • Heart rate training with the help of a Polar Heart Rate Monitor
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Continuous education
  • Individual exercise guidelines
  • Incorporating activities of daily living
  • Increasing cardiovascular endurance levels
  • Improving balance and flexibility
  • Increasing muscle strength
