Acupuncture
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a 2000-year-old medical practice from China that utilizes thin sterile needles which are inserted under the skin at specific points to treat disease and restore health. In typical treatment between five to fifty needles may be used. There are many theories, both Western and Eastern, of how acupuncture works. Throughout all of the studies, it has been proven that acupuncture increases the level of endorphins-the body's natural painkiller-in the cerebrospinal fluid. Immune and endocrine system activities are also increased. Chinese theory states that if Qi (your body's vital energy) becomes blocked or otherwise disordered, illness results. Acupuncture regulates and restores proper flow, resolving pain and disease conditions.
